Punta Cana

Friday 10 August 2018

If you're looking for that great beach getaway that you have been craving for a while then look no further Punta Cana, should be on your list. Located in the easternmost tip of the Dominican Republic the island is well known for its 32km stretch of beaches with crystal clear waters.
Not to mention it is known as the coconut coast and an area of lavish, all-inclusive resorts

I was so lucky to have traveled there for two weeks in 2015 and would love to share my experience with you all.

Where I Stayed

I stayed at the Alsol Luxury Village, which is just 10 minutes away from Punta Cana international airport. Located in Cap Cana one of the most touristic tropical destinations in the Caribbean. Alsol was the perfect resort choice for a budgeted luxury getaway. For some nights I was able to make my own home-cooked meal as the villas are equipped with everything, and mini-shops for food shopping was only a bike ride away.

Things to Do

There are numerous things around to get involved in at the Alsol resort including,  a spa day just relaxing, mornings at the gym then all day relaxing at the beach, sports and games activity held by the resort for guest.  You can take a boat cruise around the island like I did, or for those who prefer doing something more active bike riding was my favorite in and out of the resort as I was able to discover many things on my journey around.

I was able to get a little insight on the culture of the Dominican Republic, as the resort had a bus trip to the coco factory well known for chocolate making, and even nights out clubbing to Imagine Cave one of the most famous club on the island. The cave had many sections where there was different music played in every cave you entered "This night, was an unforgettable experience it was so much fun." The club and the resort also ensured all guest was on the shuttle bus and safely back to the resort.

For food, there are many restaurants to choose from on the resort, or you can even order room service to your villa if you're feeling to hide away in your room all day.

Taking in some more sun after my boat cruise "amiable people at the Alsol resort and on the island."

Beautiful piece of Art I found.
I finally got to an empty beach, "Wow" it was a breathtaking view.

Every day I discovered new beaches and places on the island it was a fantastic trip.
I got bad sunburn from all the bike riding
I found Salvaleon De Higuey Beach.
